TWILIGHT

The orange sun slowly sinks
The looming darkness is as the printer’s ink

Salty waters are at the brink

Of crawling down my ‘goose pimpled’ skin
I weep not for the twilight

I weep for my ceased light

Vanishes at the knock of twilight

Held captive by darkness’ light
Been sitting here since he transcended

Until a squeaky ladder appeared, which he descended

We talked until we are discerned

Then twilight came, and he ascended
Twilight, what will you have me do?

To take away this gloom and you

To have everything come out good

Twilight, what will you have me do?
Bring back to me my lover

For he is as my cover

Twilight, quench my hunger

And fill me with a good supper!
